Controlling emotion

Not long ago, I’ve promised myself,

“No matter what, I’ll be calm and nice to myself”.

Some people found me nice at first interaction and later, after long term interaction, (in some cases) they were somewhat shocked to discover a reckless nature inside me; if you cannot remember when I was rude to you, then may be you are among 95% of the people, who I met, but never had a situation like this. But I know if something does not go in my way or how I want it to be, I just explode in no time.

This is not good.

I really don’t care if you make mistake or do something that I don’t like. If you are not much caring about my patience, then I might demonstrate my wrath upon you. But what if I like you very much and what I said, when I was in anger, is not what I really mean? Will you be still remain steady or react in your way? May be you will start to act in your deceitful way. Whatever you do, you do this because I gave you a chance by showing my anger. If I could remain patient a little bit more!

O Dear! I can’t afford to lose you anymore!

Since I have decided I will have control in my emotion, secrets of emotion should be revealed. Emotion can be drawn like this figure:

In James’ opinion,

emotion is the realization of physiological responses, and without a physical change a person cannot experience an emotion.

Thus, James did not think that emotions could be generated in the brain alone, and he disputed the idea of structures in the brain that could produce emotions single-handedly. [source]

Every human being is mixture of thoughts, emotion and determination. Among these three, emotion is strongest one which controls our final movement. Before we do something we think about it but when we do something it is emotion which leads us.

States of Emotion can be classifieds into two categories: Positive emotion and Negative emotion. Fear, Anger, Anxiety, Jealousy, Greed belong to Negative emotions category. When negative emotion rises up, we cannot process our thoughts in right direction. Without flowing our thoughts in right direction, we cannot lead ourselves into bright and prospectus ladder of life. So, we have to make a balance in mixture of both negative and positive emotions.

Have you read “A Poison Tree”?

A Poison Tree by William Blake

I was angry with my friend:
I told my wrath, my wrath did end.
I was angry with my foe:
I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I watered it in fears,
Night and morning with my tears;
And I sunned it with smiles,
And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,
Till it bore an apple bright;
And my foe beheld it shine,
And he knew that it was mine,

And into my garden stole
When the night had veil’d the pole:
In the morning glad I see
My foe outstretch’d beneath the tree.

-

It will take time to change myself. I believe I can.
