fly me to the moon

I’m not saying I liked Russell Gunn’s ‘fly me to the moon’ very much and this writing is not about Jazz.

After coming back from a very hard working day, I close my door, turn the light off and throw myself on bed. One thing I do in addition to that, is, I hear Jazz. Did you ever try listening very low volume Jazz in complete dark room? Awesome! Even if you want to get started why not try some tonight?

Again, not today, I’m not writing on Jazz. ‘Fly me to the moon’ is our topic, and therefore, let’s hear different recordings at different times by famous artists.

1961 – Fly me to the moon – Nat King Cole
1963 – Fly me to the moon – Julie London
1964 – Fly me to the moon – Frank Sinatra
1967 – Fly Me To The Moon – Wes Montgomery

There have been many other remake and remix recordings but I liked 2004 – Fly me to the moon – Westlife among 21st century recordings. I’m sure that Bart Howard, author of this song, would hang himself if he had a chance to know how his verse, originally ‘In other words’ has been exploited even though these are highly rated on Youtube!
Fly me to the moon – Utada Hikaru
2007 – Fly me to the moon – Diana Krall
Fly me to the moon – Paul Gilbert

If none of these are, definitely 2004 – Fly Me To The Moon – Lena Park is the worst version I’ve listened, so far.

Would you disagree that “1960 gave us all heavenly music”? ::SIGH::

In other words
Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
In other words, darling, kiss me

Fill my life with song
And let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you
